FOCUS AREAS

We have four main focus areas in addition to catering to a wider range of individualised and unique needs

Reducing Challenging Behaviours

Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs) focus on manipulating variables directly before the behaviour occurs and immediately following the behaviour. These interventions are aimed at improving the quality of life for the child as well as their families.

Individualised Treatment Programmes

Find out how we design our programmes and the process involved for you to join our programme today

An individualized treatment programme is the backbone of our children’s progress and ultimately, their success. These programmes are specifically tailored to each child. It can almost be seen as a curriculum that is carefully designed to work on your child’s unique strengths and skill deficits.

Our Case Supervisors identify skills in specific developmental domains that we can work on and aim to further develop. These programmes consist of a detailed layout of every “lesson” we will work on, why we work on them , how we run them, and what skills it supplements. This allows us to work on multiple developmental domains at the same time with consistency and transparency.

We implement these programmes in one-to-one sessions using the principles of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) which is a research based therapy method that has proven to be superior in teaching and maintaining the skills necessary to be independent and successful.

Here is a breakdown of the process we will follow once you’ve decided to start your journey with us:

1. Initial meeting
Once you have contacted us (via email or phone call), we will set up a meeting (either in person or via video call) between you and your child’s Case Supervisor (the person who will be supervising your child’s team and creating a programme based on their specific needs).
We will ask you to fill out a detailed intake form that will give your Case Supervisor a better view of your child.
During the initial consult, we will discuss your priorities and areas of concern. We will then explain in more detail how we can help.
We will get a better idea of the type of services your child requires and we will be able to send you an estimation of your monthly fees based on services and hours required.

2. Developing an individualised plan
Our Case Supervisor will set up an Initial Individualised Assessment (IIA) with you and your child. This will take place in the comfort of your own home and can be anywhere from 2 to 6 hours.
For children who attend school, a covert classroom observation may be recommended in addition to the Initial Individualised Assessment.

3. One-to-one sessions
A team of trained behaviour technicians will be assigned to your child under the supervision of your BA and they will implement the individualised programme in the scheduled one-on-one sessions at your home.

4. Caregiver coaching
Consistency is key when it comes to ABA and caregiver coaching will ensure consistency across all individuals in close contact with the child, yielding optimal results.

5. Ongoing evaluation of the programme
A good ABA programme is a dynamic one. Your child’s progress will be charted and monitored, and their programme will be adapted as needed to help them acquire the skills they need. Your Case Supervisor will provide ongoing guidance to you and your child’s team, during session observations and team meetings, to make sure that your child’s progress is never stagnant.

What is

ABA?

ABA is a scientific approach to behaviour and learning. ABA refers to applying the principles of behaviour to socially important issues to produce practical change. ABA practitioners seek to understand, predict and change behaviour by observing and modifying what happens before and after behaviour. In developing socially appropriate and functional behaviour, and reducing problem behaviour, ABA practitioners are able to help children integrate successfully into and get the most out of the world around them. According to research, ABA is the best known method for teaching appropriate behaviour and reducing problematic behaviour in children with autism, and has similar success for children with and without disabilities.
