MORE ABOUT OUR SERVICES

We have four main focus areas in addition to catering to a wider range of individualised and unique needs

1:1 ABA Instruction

An individualised treatment programme is the backbone of our children’s progress and ultimately, their success. These programmes are specifically tailored to each child. It can almost be seen as a curriculum that is carefully designed to work on your child’s unique strengths and skill deficits. Our Behaviour Analysts identify skills in specific developmental domains that we can work on and aim to further develop. These programmes consist of a detailed layout of every “lesson” we will work on, why we work on them , how we run them, and what skills it supplements. This allows us to work on multiple developmental domains at the same time with consistency and transparency. We implement these programmes in one-to-one sessions using the principles of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) which is a research based therapy method that has proven to be superior in teaching and maintaining the skills necessary to be independent and successful.

Caregiver Consultation Packages

Research shows that early (before the age of 3) and intensive (40 hours per week) 1:1 ABA intervention yields the most positive results. While this method is highly recommended, we understand that there are financial strains that come along with this. We designed our caregiver consultation packages as a more cost-effective approach to intervention. Each package is designed to target a set number of caregiver concerns/priorities each month and includes a predetermined allocation of time spent with a trained Behaviour Analyst who will design a tailor-made home programme for you to follow with your child.

Teacher Support Training Packages

It is no secret that teachers are feeling more overwhelmed than ever. With the rate of childhood diagnoses increasing exponentially over the past decade and the current global pandemic, meeting the daily needs of each child in the class has become a source of great concern. Our experienced technicians will give you the tools that you need to make navigating the school day just that little bit easier. Send us a message and let us know what areas you feel you and your staff need support with. Some areas we have worked on in the past include behaviour management in the classroom, using the antecedent – behaviour – consequent (ABC) model to improve your students’ performance, understanding applied behaviour analysis (ABA), how to work with individual kids in a classroom setting. Our trainings can be face to face or via Zoom conference. For a limited time only, these training packages are completely free of charge.

1:1 Facilitation

School readiness support involves a focus on teaching your child the skills they will need to benefit from placement and be successful in a school environment. These include, but are not limited to, requesting skills, toileting independence, instruction-following skills, fine and gross motor skills, joint attention (paying attention to something someone else is showing you), and sustained attention (being able to pay attention for extended periods of time). Some of these skills are “make-or-break”, and others serve to further increase the likelihood of success. Facilitation involves sending a Behaviour Technician into the school environment with your child. At first, this mimics the one-on-one setting within a larger group setting, creating a microcosm of learning for your child. Over time, the Behaviour Technician transfers control of your child’s learning behaviour over to teachers and peers, so that your child learns from the school environment as optimally as any other child in the class. Behaviour Analysts are proud to say that they function to work themselves out of a job. Collaboration with your child’s teacher(s) is an integral part of this process.

Awareness Campaigns

Our mission and passion is to increase awareness around autism and other developmental and learning delays/disorders. We want to inform and support teachers, students and any workplace employees about the many facets of life with special and unique needs and what you can do in turn to support those around you to create a more inclusive environment for everyone. If you would like us to come to your school or workplace, send us a message and we will set up a date. Keep an eye out for our #Getbusywithblue challenge, started by A.B. Solutions in 2020, that puts a spotlight on Autism every April during Autism Awareness Month.

Parent Support Group

Our parent networking group is available to all our clients and is a great place to meet and engage with other parents who may have walked a similar path to yours. The aim of this group is to have a platform to share experiences, knowledge, helpful resources, useful contacts and more. The group is managed by A.B. Solutions Behaviour Analyst, Robyn Dunville, who has over 10 years’ experience working with children.
